Kwod
Kwod, “the Exile” in the language of Kwoden is the land by the Great River connecting Kilruzurtar with Arwadek, Dhinaem and Izbred. It is composed of two main parts: Upper Kwod in the west and Lower Kwod in the east. Most of its population is kwoden
Sunlight is very scarce in the Kwod, and Photoflora is extremely rare. Most ecosystems are made of Caligoflora revolve around nutrients carried by the Great River. Food often has to be imported from other regions.
Upper Kwod is the lesser developed part, because it lied away from trade routes until Kilruzurtar became a part of Udroth’s trade networks after Zurkan Invasions. In the north of it lies Lake Horewd, the shores of which are the least unlivable part of the Upper Kwod. In the south – Wediwir and a long stretch of darkness along the river until the borders of Lower Kwod.
Lower Kwod, by contrast, lied on the crossroads between Dhinaem and Izbred, and on the grand trade route from Dhinaem to Urandayed. The trade together with a larger amount of sunlight made Lower Kwod much more populated than the Upper Kwod. Lower Kwod was also often a seat of Exarchates and hosts a notable aethlir population.
Lower Kwod is split into two main regions: The Crossroads in the north, and Marwealm in the south. The Crossroads depended more on trade, while Marwealm was more self-sufficient.
