Demonic Invasion
At some point in the Age of Creation, for one reason or another Aradh together with Kwoden came into Udroth in Arwadek and declared themselves sovereigns of the land. They attacked the Old Gods and Yanadr in Urandayed and Izbred, enslaving those they could. This event would become the catalyst for many transformations that would make Udroth what it is today.
Uran led the Yanadr resistance to the demons’ invasion. The Old Gods were able to hold the attackers on the borders of Urandayed, but the yanadr in Izbred were left on their own and mostly enslaved by the conquerors. This led to many people of Izbred to forsake the Old Gods.
The war turned to a stalemate, with Kwoden slowly wearing out yanadr defenses, and pushing them deeper into Urandayed. Gods clashed with demons, but none could emerge victorious.
At that time Dhin Sunwyrm convinced The Stars to intervene and arrived in Dhinaem with a host of Aethlir. They started striking on the Kwoden from the north, forcing the demons to slow their advance in Urandayed. But this still was not enough to fully defeat the invaders.
That’s when in Izbred, several distinguished individuals, who would later be known as The Heroes set out to Urandayed to seek the Old Gods’ help in liberating their enslaved peoples. On their way they convinced several Kwoden tribes to turn away from the Aradh and join the fight against them.
The Heroes reached Urandayed, and there the Old Gods bestowed them with divine power. With their newfound strength they led a rebellion in Izbred that put the invaders under assault from three sides, and eventually most of the demons were killed, while others hid in the abysses below Arwadek.
But expulsion of the demons did not yet bring peace into Udroth, for The Stars and the Old Gods were united by mutual hatred of the Aradh, who now were gone. This tension would lead into the War of the Wyrms.
