War of the Wyrms

War of the Wyrms is the second cyclopean conflict during the Age of Creation, following the Demonic Invasion. Yanadr and the Old Gods viewed Udroth as their creation, and wished to continue the building that was interrupted by the attack. But Aethlir and their god Dhin wished to make a fortress out of Udroth, to continue the fight against the Aradh even outside the material world. For that they wished to institute an empire with Dhin at the head.

A war broke out, and The Heroesof Izbred were split: those who were still spiteful of the Old Gods joined the Aethlir, while those still revering them joined the Yanadr.

Neither side could triumph, until the Battle of the Wyrms. In Kilruzurtar Dhin and Uran met and fought, until Dhin was dead, and Uran was deeply wounded, after which he either died of his wounds, or had to retreat beyond the Boiling Sea to recover.

The yanadr were without their leader, and different Old Gods claimed seniority. The army was disorganized, and the aethlir used that to their advantage. The followers of Dhin quickly found a new leader – an emperor, who is appointed directly by the light of Sun and The Stars, and thus holds legitimacy of Dhin.

The Old Gods had lost, and were forced to escape outside of the world, except Myrybhur, who hid in caverns below the mountains of Myrybhurazh. The First Aethliri Empire was proclaimed, and the Age of Creation ended.
