Zurkan Invasions
Zurkan Invasions is a series of conflicts in early Age of Chaos that were caused by migrations of Kilruz under command of Zurkan and his sons.
The migrations were caused by religious conflict between the followers of Zurkan and the Temple of Zin. A great war was fought betwen the sides, which ended in a stalemate. Zurkanites were allowed to retain some lands in Kilruzurtar, but most of them were to leave.
The first invasion was that of Dhinaem. Kilruz crossed the badlands of Titzintar and marched into Aeatör Vales in Trödaem. They conquered a city, but Zurkan was killed in an ambush. The Kilruz entered a frenzy and killed most of the city’s inhabitants. The Third Aethliri Empire sent an army to stop the invaders, but the Kilruz triumphed at Aeatör Pass, which caused The Great Sealing and collapse of the Aethliri Empire.
After that Zurkan’s three sons split. The eldest, Ottr remained in Trödaem to finish its conquest. The other brothers, Kruzikil and Zokaer decided to explore the lands down the Great River there they invaded Upper Kwod. There, the brothers’ opinion on how to proceed split. The young brother, Zokaer, wished to make peace with local Kwoden, and declared himself Lord-Protector of the Commonwealth of Upper Kwod. Kruzikil was enraged and viewed his brother as a traitor. He took men loyal to him and pressed on along the Great River. The journey was devastated, as the Kilruz were beset by imperial legions, Exarchate of Koldwealm, Kwoden in Arwadek.
After being decimated, Kruzikil’s Kilruz finally reached Urandayed. There they were attacked by the forces of the Urandayedic Confederation. During the march through the bogs of Urmyzhar many tribes separated from Kruzikil, and would later be known as the Forsaken.
Kruzikil reached Myryburaz, and was able to conquer the Sacred Vale of Myrybhur. The prophet died from his wounds, but from his corpse sprouted a mushroom , that gave life to many later generations of Kilruz.
