Proclamation of the Third Aethliri Empire
Date: 733 Age of History
Location: City square of Hildrend, Ranga, Izbred
Rejoice, thee, men large and small, for as the Sun returns after a night, the Empire returned from ruin and kinslaying back into the light of Dhin and his companions. May its radiance reign eternally in the hearts of the Aethlir, Kwoden and Yanadr.
I, Öraethin of Izbred, have returned the rebellious exarchs and governors to reason and order. I ended their petty wars and punished those that refused to bow to the one true emperor. As the Sun reigns alone and commands other stars, the lesser rulers are to obey the one true overlord, chosen by the Six-and-One.
Those rulers that returned to loyalty were spared and forgiven, while those that had not renounced rebellion were punished by the law laid by Dhin Sunwyrm and his chosen emperors. Thrice be cursed the demons that sought to shatter the empire. Thrice shall their names be forgotten, never again shall their foul schemes touch lands protected by the Emperor.
In the bright city of Aethlir I prayed to the Stars for advice, how to restore their treasured land. And they spoke thus:
– No exarch shall rule with autonomy they were allowed in the past. Their realms are to be split into pieces, each given to a governor loyal to the Empire.
– Each of these small lords shall be but a steward for the Emperor. They are to send men to Aethlir to serve in his legions and answer to his orders alone.
– So that the good citizens of the Empire are safe from the demons that haunted their thoughts during the time of troubles, priests shall live at the governor’s courts, whose holy task would be to prevent heresy among the people.
Such was the decree of Dhin, Laesith, Ethaemel, Aeldheth, Mörthadh, Shaedhöl and Othaenidh, as laid by Regent Öraethin, their chosen servant.
